UrbanismX is XOX’s program for curating, designing, and implementing urban content — the software of the city. It explores how art, culture, media, and public interfaces animate urban environments and foster civic life. The pilot project, Kai Tek 1331, serves as a pioneering model, transforming former industrial land into a future-forward cultural district driven by innovation, hospitality, and creative economy infrastructure.

UrbanismX is not only a platform for local transformation but also a scalable model for international development, especially in post-industrial or rapidly urbanizing cities across Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. Through cultural programming, immersive storytelling, and spatial design, UrbanismX redefines how cities rebuild identity, foster peace and security, and support post-conflict recovery through the power of place.

Fabrication Futures rethinks construction as a high-tech, high-efficiency industry. In partnership with Guangzhou Construction Company, the program is building a fully integrated pipeline for modular integrated construction (MiC), linking AI-generated designs with robotic fabrication, supply chain logistics, and on-site assembly.

This program supports mass urbanization and housing solutions without sacrificing quality, speed, or environmental goals. AI and digital twin technologies drive the design-to-delivery cycle, making Fabrication Futures a backbone for XOX’s scalable urban infrastructure across regions.

GOBO (Global Observatory for Built Outcomes) is XOX’s interface with international development, humanitarian design, and spatial diplomacy. Working closely with the United Nations Geospatial Network — and more than 20 UN agencies — the program provides strategic design, spatial analysis, and consulting services to national governments and global organizations.

GOBO supports projects in disaster response, peacebuilding, post-war reconstruction, climate adaptation, and regional development, using architecture as a tool for systems thinking and capacity-building. It integrates GIS, big data, and local engagement to deliver solutions grounded in both precision and empathy.

AIDE Lab explores how artificial intelligence can be applied responsibly in the built environment. In collaboration with the Chinese University of Hong Kong, AIDE Lab develops AI tools — including large language models (LLMs) and regenerative city systems — to support participatory planning, design generation, policy simulations, and community intelligence gathering.

The lab bridges architecture and machine learning, treating AI not only as a design enhancer but also as an ethical co-author in future cities. AIDE is embedded across all of XOX’s projects and acts as a long-term partner in developing adaptive, learning urban systems.
